Terms & Conditions

Version 1.0 Last updated 19 August 2026 Governed by the law of England and Wales

01Who we are

This website is operated by TRISTARFS LIMITED, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 17443856. Our registered office is Unit 9, Drayton Industrial Estate, Drayton, Norwich, Norfolk, NR8 6RL.

You can reach us by email at crew@tristarfs.co.uk, by telephone on 01603 244 205, or by post at Unit 9, Drayton Industrial Estate, Drayton, Norwich, Norfolk, NR8 6RL. In these terms, “we”, “us” and “our” mean that company.

We supply the Britannia Fire P50 composite extinguisher range and PVSTOP solar panel block out. Those products are manufactured by Britannia Fire Ltd in Norfolk, England. We are a partner, not the manufacturer.

02About these terms

These terms apply to every order you place with us through this website, by telephone, by email or in person, and to your use of the website itself. Please read them before ordering. By placing an order you accept them.

Some of these terms apply differently depending on whether you are buying as a consumer or as a business.

  • You are a consumer if you are buying wholly or mainly for personal use, outside your trade, business, craft or profession. Consumers have statutory rights that cannot be excluded, and nothing here affects them.
  • You are a business customer if you are buying for use in your trade, business, craft or profession. Section 08 sets out the terms that apply instead in that case.

We may change these terms from time to time. The version that applies to your order is the one published on this website when you placed it. We keep dated copies and will supply the applicable version on request.

03Placing an order

Our website and any quotation we give is an invitation to you to place an order. It is not an offer we are bound to accept.

After you place an order we will send an acknowledgement confirming we have received it. That acknowledgement is not acceptance. A contract between us comes into existence only when we send you a despatch confirmation, or where we are carrying out a site survey and commissioning, when we confirm the specification in writing.

If we cannot accept your order — because an item is out of stock, because we have identified an error in the price or description, or because we are not able to meet a delivery date you have specified — we will tell you and will not charge you. If you have already paid, we will refund you in full.

We may limit the quantity available to any one customer, and we may decline orders where we believe the product is not suitable for the risk described to us.

04Price and payment

Prices are shown on the product page and include or exclude VAT as stated there. The total price you pay, including any delivery charge and any unavoidable fee, is shown before you commit to the purchase. We do not add mandatory charges later in the checkout.

Volume pricing applies from the quantities shown on each product page. Where a tiered price applies, the price per unit shown for your quantity is the price charged.

We take payment at the point of order unless we have agreed credit terms with you in writing. Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not receive or store your full card details.

Prices can change, but a change will never affect an order we have already accepted. If we discover an obvious pricing error before despatch we will contact you and give you the choice of continuing at the correct price or cancelling for a full refund.

05Delivery

We deliver throughout the United Kingdom. Delivery costs and estimated timescales are shown at checkout before you pay.

Estimated delivery dates are estimates. Where we have not agreed a specific date, we will deliver without undue delay and in any event within 30 days of the day the contract is made. If we miss that deadline you may treat the contract as at an end and we will refund you in full.

Delivery is complete, and the goods become your responsibility, when we deliver them to the address you gave us. You own the goods once we have received payment in full.

Please check your delivery on arrival. Tell us within [[ 3 / 7 ]] working days if anything is missing or visibly damaged in transit, so that we can put it right quickly — this does not affect your statutory rights or the timescales in sections 06 and 07.

If nobody is available to take delivery and the goods cannot be left safely, the carrier will leave a note. If you do not rearrange delivery or collect the goods, we may charge you the cost of storage and any further delivery attempt.

06Cancelling an order — consumers

This section applies if you are a consumer. Business customers should read section 08.

Your 14-day right to change your mind

Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 you may cancel an order placed online, by telephone or by email for any reason, without giving a reason, within 14 days of the day you (or someone you name) receive the goods. Where an order is delivered in instalments, the 14 days run from the day you receive the last item.

To cancel, simply tell us before the 14 days are up — email crew@tristarfs.co.uk, telephone 01603 244 205, or write to us. You may use the model cancellation form in the Regulations but you do not have to.

Returning the goods

You must send the goods back without undue delay and in any event within 14 days of telling us you are cancelling. [[ STATE WHO PAYS RETURN POSTAGE — you must say clearly, before purchase, if the customer pays; otherwise you do ]].

You may handle the goods as you would in a shop. If you reduce their value by handling them more than that — for example by discharging an extinguisher, removing a tamper seal or damaging the cylinder — we may deduct that reduction from your refund.

Your refund

We refund within 14 days of getting the goods back, or of you showing us evidence you have sent them, whichever is sooner. We refund to the payment method you used. We refund the standard delivery cost you paid; if you chose a more expensive delivery option we refund the standard cost only.

When this right does not apply

The 14-day right does not apply to goods made to your specification or clearly personalised, or to sealed goods which are not suitable for return for health protection or hygiene reasons once unsealed. It does not apply to a service you have asked us to begin during the cancellation period and which we have fully performed — a completed installation, for example. If you cancel a service part-way through, you pay for what has been supplied up to that point.

07If something is wrong with what we supplied

If you are a consumer, the Consumer Rights Act 2015 says goods must be as described, fit for purpose and of satisfactory quality. Your rights under it are summarised below and are in addition to any guarantee.

WhenWhat you are entitled to
Up to 30 days The short-term right to reject faulty goods and get a full refund.
Up to 6 months A repair or replacement. If that does not fix it, you can claim a refund. A fault appearing in this period is assumed to have been there at delivery unless we can show otherwise.
Up to 6 years You may still have a claim in England, Wales and Northern Ireland (5 years in Scotland) if the goods were not of satisfactory quality when supplied.

Services must be carried out with reasonable care and skill. If a survey, installation or commissioning is not, we will put it right, or reduce the price if putting it right is not possible within a reasonable time.

To claim, contact us with your order number and a description of the problem. We may ask for photographs or to inspect the product.

08Business customers

This section applies instead of section 06 if you are buying in the course of a business.

The 14-day cancellation right does not apply to business purchases. We may accept a return by agreement, at our discretion, where goods are unused, unopened and in resaleable condition, and we may apply a restocking charge of [[ % or “no” ]].

You must inspect goods on delivery and tell us in writing of any shortage, damage or defect apparent on inspection within [[ 3 / 7 ]] working days, and of any other defect within a reasonable time of discovering it.

We warrant that goods will conform to their specification and be free from material defects for the guarantee periods in section 09. If they do not, and you have notified us in time, we will at our option repair or replace them, or refund the price. That is your sole remedy for defective goods.

All warranties, conditions and other terms implied by statute or common law are, to the fullest extent permitted by law, excluded from a contract with a business customer.

These terms are the entire agreement between us in relation to a business order. You acknowledge that you have not relied on any statement or representation not set out in them. Nothing in this paragraph limits liability for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.

09Guarantees

Guarantees are given by the manufacturer, Britannia Fire Ltd, and are in addition to your legal rights.

RangeGuaranteeService life
P50 extinguishers 10-year guarantee against manufacturing faults and workmanship; 20-year guarantee against corrosion of the composite body 20 years, with factory refurbishment at year 10
PVSTOP 3-year warranty 5 years

PVSTOP is not a fire extinguisher and does not carry the P50 guarantee. It is a light-blocking polymer coating for photovoltaic panels. Any statement on this website about the 10-year guarantee, the 20-year life cycle or the absence of a service contract refers to the P50 extinguisher range only.

A guarantee is conditional on the product being sited, used and inspected as set out in the documentation supplied at commissioning, and on it not having been modified, discharged, refilled or serviced by anyone other than us or the manufacturer.

10Choosing the right product

Please read this section

Nothing on this website is a fire risk assessment, and nothing on it replaces one. The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 requires the responsible person for business premises in England and Wales to carry out and keep up to date a suitable and sufficient fire risk assessment. Equivalent duties apply in Scotland and Northern Ireland. What extinguishers your premises needs, how many, and where they go is determined by that assessment.

“No annual engineer service contract” does not mean “no maintenance”. Article 17 of the Order requires a suitable system of maintenance whatever equipment you have. The P50 range is designed so that the annual inspection can be carried out in-house by a trained member of your own staff, using the written procedure and logbook supplied at commissioning. It replaces the engineer visit. It does not remove the duty.

Product descriptions, fire ratings, classes and guidance on this website are provided in good faith to help you specify. Fire ratings quoted are those tested under BS EN 3 and shown on the unit’s own label, which is definitive. Where a rating or class does not exist for a risk — there is currently no BS EN 3 fire test for lithium-ion battery fires, for example — we say so rather than implying one.

Where we carry out a site survey, we will give you a written specification. That specification is our recommendation based on what we observed and what you told us. It supports your fire risk assessment; it is not a substitute for it, and it does not transfer the responsible person’s duties to us.

If you are unsure what you need, ask us before ordering. Site surveys are free and without obligation.

11Installation and commissioning

Where installation or commissioning is included or ordered, you are responsible for giving us safe access to the premises at the agreed time, and for telling us about anything on site that affects safe working.

If we cannot carry out the work because access is not available, or because the site is not ready, we may charge a reasonable call-out fee and rearrange.

On completion we hand over the inspection procedure and logbook for each unit. Keeping those records up to date afterwards is your responsibility.

12Our liability

We never exclude or limit our liability where it would be unlawful to do so. That includes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, and, for consumers, under the Consumer Protection Act 1987 or for breach of the statutory rights summarised in section 07.

If you are a consumer: we are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for loss or damage that is not foreseeable. We are not liable for business losses; if you use the products for any commercial purpose we will have no liability to you for loss of profit, loss of business, business interruption or loss of business opportunity.

If you are a business customer: subject to the paragraph above, our total liability arising under or in connection with a contract, whether in contract, tort (including negligence), breach of statutory duty or otherwise, is limited to the price paid for the goods or services in question. We are not liable for loss of profit, loss of sales or business, loss of contracts, loss of anticipated savings, loss of use or corruption of data, or any indirect or consequential loss.

We are not liable for any failure or delay caused by an event outside our reasonable control. If one occurs we will contact you and the time for performance will be extended. If it lasts more than [[ 30 ]] days either of us may cancel and we will refund what you have paid for goods not supplied.

13Using this website

We may update this website at any time and may suspend or withdraw it without notice. We do not guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error free.

Where we link to another website we do so for information. We have no control over those sites and accept no responsibility for them.

You must not misuse this website by knowingly introducing viruses or other malicious material, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to it or any server or database connected to it.

14General

We may transfer our rights and obligations under these terms to another organisation. We will tell you in writing if that happens and it will not affect your rights. You may only transfer your rights or obligations to someone else if we agree in writing.

This contract is between you and us. Nobody else has any right to enforce any of its terms.

If a court finds part of these terms unlawful, the rest continues in force. If we delay in enforcing a term, that does not prevent us enforcing it later.

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and both of us submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. If you are a consumer living in Scotland or Northern Ireland you may also bring proceedings in your own country.

15Complaints

If something has gone wrong, please tell us first — email crew@tristarfs.co.uk or telephone 01603 244 205. We aim to acknowledge a complaint within 2 working days and to resolve it within 14 days, telling you if it will take longer.

If we cannot resolve it between us and you are a consumer, you may be able to use an alternative dispute resolution scheme. You can also get free advice from Citizens Advice on 0808 223 1133 or at citizensadvice.org.uk.
